Cedric K. H. Goh received his undergraduate degree in Architecture from the University of Oklahoma and subsequently a Master’s degree in Architecture from the Graduate School of Design at University of Pennsylvania. He spent several years working as a design architect in Chicago before deciding to return to Penang. Believing that design is not complete until it is constructed, he started an interior design practice upon his return and has been actively involved in the local construction and renovation in order to understand better the entire design process. This understanding has created opportunities in honing his design skills to be able to approach design within extremely tight budget conditions.
Born and raised in Penang in 1974, he has always appreciated art and design in its many forms. He believes art is an intimate and powerful form of expression and design is a universal language that permeates many industries and professions. From culinary arts to graphic and even an entire business model, design and art touches our lives in many ways. His interest in art and design has led him to explore many things from branding, graphics, and painting to being a barista. His work is very much influenced by his breadth of design knowledge and skills. He is frequently inspired by profound thoughts and visual stimulation, which encourages an inner dialogue. His design work therefore often begins with a thought and his artwork is as exploratory as his thought process, frequently experimenting with new techniques and processes. “An artist’s journey is a sacred journey in discovering oneself.”
Biography
ARTIST STATEMENT
Art often is an intensely personal journey. For me, my artwork defies the notion of a personal style. It is more of an inevitable amalgamation of multiple creative disciplines. I am constantly finding new ways of seeing art, and exploring different mediums, techniques and creative use of them in producing art. Sparked by an inquisitive exploration, my varied genre of artwork synthesizes multiple media techniques. Each piece is refreshing in its technique, style, ideas and application. Depending on what inspires me, I tend to oscillate between traditional medium and exploratory techniques. Relying on skillful design and execution, my work focuses on creating beautifully composed pieces that blurs the line between 3D modeling, spatial boundaries, and painting. It is a fuzzy artistic space between art, real objects, artistic representation, scale model and imagination. The use of objects and techniques beyond acrylic, ink, pencil and watercolor defies traditional styles and rules. This unusual method combines the best qualities of each media, creating creative artwork that is refreshingly familiar, yet mysteriously unique.
I believe that pushing boundaries stretches the creative mind and thereby elevating the creative quality of artwork. Art is no longer just conveying ideas or creating beautifully executed pieces. In many ways, art is an intimate journey into our thoughts and inner soul, exploring fears, beliefs, philosophies, purpose and all forms of emotions. It is a profound experience gifted to those who are able to see the world from a very different perspective - art.

Nature Speaks
MIX MEDIA ACRYLIC ON CANVAS
Trees are poems that the earth writes upon the sky. The sea’s vastness, the sky’s expanse, and the forest’s grounded life reflects the profound connection in nature. This series is an ode to conservation international's star-studded TV programs, narrated by international actors and actresses. Resourceful use of found objects and the creative application in the final acrylic painting defines the character of this special series.
THE OCEAN
An ocean breeze puts a mind at ease. Smell the air and watch the tides ,as they scuff our worries aside. Ice cream sticks, sea shells, pebbles, discarded skewers, plastic and paper bag handle. They were given meaningful second life.
THE SKY
Look up into the bright blue sunny sky, watch the scattered clouds drifting by. From texture to tone, cotton wool, random electrical parts, chopstick and ping pong ball to longan seeds, I value the small things—because they’re what make artwork truly stand out.

A Pictorial Story of The Endless Horizon
The horizon, infinitely theatrical. The sky rises gracefully from the horizon like a living canvas of shifting colors. The clouds and the sea, constantly embraces each other in a poetic dance. Though occasionally muted, the horizon is frequently animated with such beautiful surreal colours that only those who pays attention could fathom its eloquent expression of intimately relatable feelings of joy, sadness, pain and happiness. It does not speak, it does not cry or laugh, but through colors the horizon speaks to us in innumerable ways. These are timeless moments that I was lucky enough to have chanced upon for the last 25 years, when the sky sang and danced with the sea so elegantly. All we need to do is open our eyes and listen with our hearts.

When we see beauty in a sky draped in dark dreary clouds, yet finding an indescribably comforting feeling with a bright glowing sliver of hope - this perhaps is the moment when we have begun to accept death while at the same time finding the courage to honour life. The distant Sears Tower peeking above a random high rise in the congested Chicago skyline. Nothing but jagged spikes and shades of brown and grey reflected off tall shimmering glass facades. A beautiful representation of our human civilisation, though an ugly image of countless lost souls in our frantic world of capitalism.
Allow me to end this story with a scene of the urban city. The horizon blanketed with smog and peppered with random spikes of concrete towers. Glow of dawn cast an unusual tint of glamour over the distant twin towers - associated with being a city of such towering stature. Is happiness hiding within the maze of building blocks? A scene of unsettling perspective of the urban frantic pace of life, yet an image capturing a true sense of contemplative surrealness. Breathe we shall, for living we must.

Unless otherwise stated as prints, every piece is a unique individual artwork. Images on the website are representative of the quality and design of each original artwork. Every artwork is carefully designed and/or painted, and no two pieces are exactly identical.
ORDERING CUSTOMIZED ARTWORK
Do take note that each piece is meticulously handcrafted and customized to each client’s request. The lead time will be approximately 3 to 6 weeks. The price for each order shall be quoted upon finalizing the size, the specimens, and the type of composition requested. A non-refundable 50% deposit shall be collected upon confirmation of order. Remaining 50% shall be paid upon delivery of final artwork.
